London Shambhala Meditation Centre: UK Registered Charity No 1073977

Public Meditation

Public meditation sessions are held on every Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesday evenings from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm (there is no requirement to attend the whole session).

To receive meditation instruction, simply come along and ask to see the meditation instuctor.

There is no charge for meditation practice or instruction. (There may be small charges to cover refreshments such as tea and biscuits).

There should always be a meditation instructor at the Centre on Monday, Tuesday (November 4th 2008 onwards) and Wednesday evenings but if you cannot attend at these times, please call us (or email) and we will try to arrange an appointment for another time, either during the day or in the evening.

Open Evenings

(Mondays and Tuesdays)

You can just look around and get information, talk informally with members or learn how to meditate. Tea and biscuits are served at 7:30pm before the meditation session.

Monday meditation sessions are preceded by a yoga class for which there is a charge.

Wednesday Practice Evenings

Meditation practice is from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Newcomers are very welcome and meditation instruction is available.

The last ten minutes of the evening include the recitation of traditional Shambhala Buddhist texts (in English), after which tea and biscuits are served. Sometimes there may be special practices or short talks.

Sunday Morning Sitting

Informal meditation practice is from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, either in the main hall or in the upstairs meditation room.

Meditation instruction is not generally available, so newcomers will need to attend on Monday to Wednesday evenings to receive meditation instruction or make special arrangements.

On the first Sunday of the calendar month, additional sitting practice and other activities are sometimes arranged. See nyinthün.
