Public meditation sessions are held on every Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm and on Sunday mornings from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm (there is no requirement to attend the whole session).
To receive meditation instruction, simply come along on a Monday or Wednesday evening and ask to see the meditation instuctor.
There is no charge for meditation practice or instruction. (There may be small charges to cover refreshments such as tea and biscuits, and a donation is suggested when a talk is given).
There should always be a meditation instructor at the Centre on Monday and Wednesday evenings but if you
cannot attend at these times, please call us (or email) and we will try to arrange an appointment for another time, either
during the day or in the evening.
Monday Open House Evenings
These public evenings take place once a month, usually on the first Monday of the month, and are a great introduction to meditation and the Shambhala Buddhist teachings. They include meditation practice and a talk by one of our senior teachers. It is an opportunity to connect with other people interested in meditation and meditation instruction is always available.
Time:
7.30pm: tea and biscuits
8.00-9:30pm: meditation, talk and discussion
Cost: Suggested £3 donation.

Monday Open Evenings
(Other Mondays)
You can just look around and get information, talk informally with members or learn how to meditate.
Tea and biscuits are served at 7:30pm before the meditation session.
Monday meditation sessions are preceded by a yoga class for which there is a charge.
Youth Gathering
An hour-long session for young people (teenagers up to 30s) to meet,
practice and discuss meditation. Refreshments provided at the end. All
are then welcome to stay for our regular Wednesday Practice Evening, or
to go out together and socialise!
For further information please email:
Timings: From 6:15pm until 7:15pm
Free of charge.
Wednesday Practice Evenings
Meditation practice is from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Newcomers are very welcome and meditation instruction is available.
The last ten minutes of the evening include the recitation of traditional Shambhala Buddhist texts (in English), after which tea and biscuits are served. Sometimes there may be special practices or short talks.
Sunday Morning Sitting
Sunday morning sitting takes place between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm each Sunday, either in the main hall or the upstairs meditation room. Unfortunately meditation instruction for newcomers is not currently available. Tea and coffee will be served at 10:30 am before the session begins at 11.00 am.
On the first Sunday of the calendar month, additional sitting practice and other activities are sometimes arranged. See nyinthün.
North London and East London Shambhala meditation groups
In addition to our main South London centre, Shambhala meditation groups meet in North London and East London.
The North London group meets on Friday mornings in the Dalston (N16/E8) area. Meditation instruction is available at these and there is no charge. (Donations towards costs are welcome.)
All are welcome to attend these groups. They are particularly suitable for those who are interested in starting or developing a regular weekly meditation practice based in these areas.
If you are interested in attending, please email (for the North London group) or (for the East London group).
